Opposition members should revisit and see how their governments failed to protect Mhadei: CM Sawant

Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday took a dig at the opposition members including Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao urging him to revisit the old files and see how their governments had failed to protect the interest of Mhadei river.

The chief minister said that Goa has a stand in Mhadei case only because his government filed a petition in the supreme court, which is fought by expert and dedicated legal experts including Advocate General Devidas Pangam.

Reacting to the inspection by PRAWAH, Sawant said that the authority members have come for inspection at right time as it is raining heavily and Karnataka’s act of diverting the water to Malaprabha basin by constructing underground canals.
