Panaji: BJP Goa President Sadanand Tanavade on Sunday said that the voters need not fear about Coronavirus during the upcoming Zilla Panchayat election scheduled on March 22.

Tanavade told reporters that all the polling stations are “well ventilated” and hence there is no fear about the virus being spread.

He said that the people should come in a large number to vote on the day of polling.

State government has already shut down schools, gyms, clubs, pubs, swimming pools, casinos and few other establishments to avoid spread of Coronavirus.

Tanavade alleged that the Congress party was trying to create fear amongst the people in the name of Coronavirus.

He said that the party has been conducting smaller corner meetings in the run up for Zilla Panchayat election.

Tanavade said that the party has completed two rounds of the campaigning, already during which they have received tremendous response from the people, who are happy with the performance of Central and State government.

He stated that the opposition was running out of the issues due to which they are forced to rake up issues like Mahadayi water diversion.

“Chief minister has met Prime minister Narendra Modi in Delhi couple of days back. PM has assured status quo on Mahadayi will Supreme Court gives its verdict,” Tanavade said.
