One more positive case, total goes up to eight

Panaji: After seven patients confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 infection, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday said that another person who was working on a ship has tested positive during rapid test.

Rane said that the person who had arrived in the state on Thursday after being quarantined in Mumbai for 14 days.

Breaking the news, Rane tweeted “Goan seafarers who was quarantined in Mumbai for 14 days arrived in Goa this morning after being tested negative in Mumbai. Upon his arrival in Goa today morning, he was tested via our TrueNat testing and his initial sample has reported positive.”

“However, his sample has been sent for a confirmatory test at the Virology lab in GMC. In addition to this, the drive rwho brought the seafearer into the state, his details have been forwarded to the Govt of Maharashtra for necessary action,” he said in another tweet.

Seven people had tested positive on Wednesday, which were the first cases as the last case was reported on April 03.
