Not Govt, but HSCC to procure medical equipment for GMC’s Super Speciality block

Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today announced that HSCC ( Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation), which is constructing the 500- beded super speciality block of GMC, will also deal with procuring the required medical equipment for the hospital.
Health Minister held a review meeting with HSCC  architect and experts, doctors and heads of department on the project. Government has decided to put the project on fast- track.
Emerging out of meeting, Rane said that as per directions of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, we have decided to fast track the project, the foundation stone for which was laid down in February, earlier this year.
“It is dream project and we have to ensure that it comes up as fast as possible,” he said.
Rane said that the equipment for the hospital will be also procured by HSCC to ensure that there is no delay in launch of the project. ” We have moved the file. Government will not procure the equipment but HSCC  will do it,” he said.
It is Rs 350 crore project coming up at Bambolim. The meeting was held for proper coordination among all the concerned authorities.
