No use of lantern kites or laser beams in the vicinity of airport; orders govt

Panaji: In a bid to ensure safety of the aircrafts during its landing and take-off at the Dabolim international airport, the State government has imposed six- month long ban on use of lantern or wish kites or laser beams during the festivity in the vicinity of the airport boundary from August 13.

The South Goa district Magistrate through an order has imposed a complete ban on all such activities involving use of lantern kites/wish kites and use of laser beam with high intensity lights especially during festival within 10kms of Dabolim Airport boundary to avoid danger to the safety of the aircrafts during its landing and takeoff for a period of 180 days with effect from August 13.
