Panaji: With Congress party busy trying to lobby for a new alliance government led by them, the Goa Forward Party (GFP)- the allies in the current Manohar Parrikar led government, has said that there is “no question of any change”.
GFP President and Minister Vijai Sardesai said that post March 2017 assembly results, the party had extended its support to the Manohar Parrikar for government formation and the support continues even today. “Just because some changes have taken place in Karnataka, does not mean, that there will be changes in Goa,” he stated.
“There is absolutely no question of government change in Goa. We are not the one who will backstab our leader, just because he is ill. There is no question of destabilizing the Manohar Parrikar government,” Sardesai commented.
Sardesai statement comes hours after Congress senior leaders claim that they have the majority to prove on the Floor of the House for government formation and many non BJP MLAs are in touch with them.
Referring to Karnataka development, Sardesai said that in Karnataka it is Congress backed government and not lead government. “Are Goa Congress leaders ready to back coalition government,” he questioned.
