Nigerian national arrested with Charas and Ganja by Calangute police

Panaji: In a narcotic raid conducted by Calangute police one Nigerian national Mr. Prince Anthony Enzema N/o Nigeria has been placed under arrest for illegal possession of drugs.
As per PI Jivba Dalvi reliable information was received that a Nigerian national would be coming to deliver drugs to prospective customers at Nr. Tito’s lane in Baga, Calangute. Accordingly a raiding team was formed and directed to conduct a raid. Acting upon the directions of PI Dalvi the raiding team camped at Baga to apprehend the suspected person. As the exact place of delivery was not know and to narrow the chances of escape of the suspected person PI Dalvi himself along with one constable camped at one side of the road to narrow the chances of escape if any by the suspect.
As soon as the suspected Nigerian national was noticed waiting for customers to deliver drugs he was rounded up by police and asked to stay calm. However accused Nigerian attempted to flee from the spot. This was noticed by PI Dalvi who than along with one constable chased down the accused Nigerian, overpowered and detained him.
Upon conducting the personal search of the accused Nigerian he was found to be in illegal possession of drugs which included Charas and Ganja. The price of the seized drugs is worth Rs. 1,35,000/- in international market.
The raid went on from 11:00  pm to 01:30 am of 28/05/2018. Accused person has been placed under arrest and booked under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act. The raiding was supervised by PI Dalvi and consisted of PSI Prajit Mandrekar, police constables Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar, Vallabh Pednekar and Vinod Kerkar.
Further interrogation at the police station by PI Dalvi the accused Nigerian revealed that he is not having any   valid passport or visa. Hence he was also booked for illegally staying in India under sections 3(2)(a) of Passport Entry Act, section 7(1)(iii) of Foreigners Order Act and section 14 of Foreigners Act, 1946.
Further investigation is in progres in both the offences under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi , SDPO Porvorim Shri Kiran Padwal and SP North Smt. Chandan Chawdary IPS
