Panaji: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday paid tributes to former Union Defence Minister late Manohar Parrikar at Miramar, hours before the arrival of PM Narendra Modi to commission Greenfield International Airporat in North Goa.
Sawant visited Miramar beach, where the mortal remains of Parrikar were cremated in March 2019 after his death.
The chief minister took on to twitter to express his tributes to his predecessor.
“Bhai, we always remember you. One more dream of yours is completed in the form of Mopa Airport. Your blessings will motivate us to work for Goa and Goans. Heartfelt tributes to you,” he tweeted in Konkani.
The foundation stone for Mopa Airport was laid by PM Modi in the year 2016 when Parrikar was the Union Defence Minister and state was headed by then chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
