Navi Mumbai man arrested for killing transgender at Baga

Baga: Goa Police on Monday night arrested Navi Mumbai based man in connection with a murder of a transgender at Baga beach village in North Goa.

Police spokesman said that Manoj Rajan Narayan, 23, of Navi Mumbai was arrested in connection with the murder of 24-year-old transgender at Baga.

The deceased is from Pimpri, Pune, whose decomposed corpse was found in an abandoned structure at Baga, he said on December 20.

The motive behind the murder would be revealed only after the interrogation, the spokesman said.

Calangute Police Team led by PI Nolasco Raposo and comprising of PSI Sushant Sangodkar, Head Constable Devidas Haldankar, Vinod Naik, Police Constables namely Mahableswar Sawant, Babuso Gaonkar, Vinay Shrivastav, Shasank Sakhalkar, Dinesh Morajkar, Yogesh Kholkar, and Suresh Naik cracked the case.

 SP North Shri Utkrisht Prasoon and SDPO, Porvorim Shri Edwin Colaco personally visited the scene of crime and interrogated the accused person involved in this case. SP North congratulated the Calangute Police Team for working out the case within 24 hours. The accused person will be produced for remand before JMFC Mapusa. Further investigations is in progress with PI Nolasco Raposo.
