Margao, 6th December – The ‘trailer’ and ‘teaser’ of the forthcoming Hindi film ‘Kedarnath’ which is about to be released have been publicised recently. On the basis of what has been shown in them, it appears that this movie is anti-Hindu. Hindu organisations under the banner of National Hindu Movement held demonstrations on 6th December morning in front of South Goa Collector building to demand ban on the film ‘Kedarnath’ in Goa. Members of organisations namely Shivsamrajya. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha and Ranaragini sect and also devout Hindus took part in the demonstration.
As per Hindu organisations, the tagline of the film ‘Love is a pilgrimage’ itself is denigrating. The love for God and that in a love affair are two different concepts and incomparable with each other. This tagline has purposefully denigrated pilgrimage centres. Can love affair be the purpose of pilgrimage and pilgrim centres? This goes to show what message the producers of the film want to convey. This film is based not only on the factual incident of massive floods that occurred at the pious pilgrim centre ‘Kedarnath’ in 2013 but also portrays an imaginary love-story. At present, Indian society is facing a grave problem in the form of ‘Love-jihad’. The film ‘Kedarnath’ glorifies ‘Love-jihad’. At this time memorandum demanding ban on the movie ‘Kedarnath’ was submitted to Dy. Collector Shri. Prabhudesai. The HJS had earlier submitted memorandum to the Central Board of Film Certification to demand imposition of a ban on the film before the outpour of public sentiments! Also local devotees and priests of the Kedarnath temple have opposed the movie and have objected the script and few scenes in the film ‘Kedarnath’. The priests in Kedarnath temple have also demanded the imposition of a ban on the film.
