Vasco/Mopa: Two flights scheduled to depart from Manohar International Airport on Friday night at Mopa and three from Dabolim International Airport were cancelled while both the Airports in Goa faced delays in the flights due to global outage of Microsoft.
Sources from Manohar International Airport at Mopa (North Goa) stated that two Indigo flights which were scheduled to depart to Mumbai and Bengaluru on Friday night are cancelled.
“The Mumbai flight was supposed to depart at 8.40 pm and Bengaluru at 10.10 pm,” he said, adding that there also delays in the flight operation during the day due to Microsoft outage.
He said that the boarding passes and tags for the luggage were issued manually which delayed the process, further delaying the take off of the flights.
At Dabolim Airport in South Goa, the flights were delayed on Friday due to the outage.
Officiating Director of Dabolim Airport Jayarajan MC said that Airport Authority of India said that at around 1010 Hrs on Friday due to issue in check in software used by Indigo and Air India Express airlines were unable to do check in of passengers through the system and shifted to manual check in.
“Out of 27 indigo flights for the day 3 flights( 6E-589- Chennai,6E-281- Ahmedabad,6E-985- Hyderabad) were cancelled and all other flights for Indigo and Air India Express are delayed by one to one-and-half hours,” he said.
