Maulinge locals boycott ZP election, only two votes polled

Mayem: The voters of Maulinge village in Mayem Assembly constituency boycotted the Zilla Panchayat election with only two votes polled till 1 in the noon.

The locals are demanding repair of their existing roads, while accusing MLA Pravin Zantye for failing to get their work done. Former Sarpanch Madhu Naik said that the people are united and have a single demand of repair of roads.

He said that the locals are not against the government.

Naik said that the people will boycott upcoming Assembly election, if their demand is not met.

When Goanewshub.com visited the village, the polling officers said that only two votes have been polled till afternoon.
