Margao: Manovikas English Medium School organised Sarto Almeida Memorial U-14 Football boys tournament began at Manovikas School, Margao on Friday.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Director of the school Mayalin Noronha and GPSC chairman Jose Manuel Noronha.
The organizers said that the tournament is organised to honour the life and work of Sarto Almeida, one of the pioneers and primary architect of the school.
A total of 10 schools are battling it out in true sportsmanship and vigour to win the most coveted rolling trophy.
