Panaji: The Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress will soon be launching a helpline number for women in distress ensuring speedy relief.
Coming out with the information, Indian Mahila Congress Goa desk in-charge Netta D’Souza today said that in absence of Home Minister Manohar Parrikar, there is no one to ensure safety of women in Goa.
“As per media reports in just one month from April to May nearly 11 rape cases are registered in Goa, which is of great concern. With due respect to Home Minister, who is ailing, there is no one to ensure safety of women in the State,” she said.
She announced that State Mahila Congress will launch a toll-free helpline number for the women in distress within a fortnight.
“ Mahila Congress will always be there to fight against the atrocities on women. We will stand by the victims and ensure justice is delivered,” D’Souza said adding that any women, who is a victim of domestic violence, rape, molestation, or other injustice can contact us on that helpline number.
