Valpoi police have arrested one accused person for shooting a fellow person while hunting for wild animals in Valpoi.
As per SDPO Jivba G. Dalvi, accused Mr. Abhijit S/o Narayan Desai, age 34
yrs., N/o Thadebhatla, Dodamarg, Mharasthra has been arrested for firing gunshot on Mr. Hemant Hirba Desai, r/o Desaiwada Advoi Sattari Goa while hunting wild animals.
On 10/04/2025 at 06:30 pm above persons had gone for hunting at in the Cashew plantation at Fulasaryo
Advoi Sattari Goa and at about 9.00 pm Abhijit Desai while hunting wild animal had loaded a fire arm with cartridge. During the hunting a gunshot was fired from the firearm which hit to the Hemant Desai thereby causing him serious injuries and death.
Valpoi Police Station have received a complaint from uncle of deceased and immediately an offence under sections 105 R/w 3(5) of the BNS 2023 and
Section 3 R/w 25 & 27 of Arms Act and Section 9 of Wild Life Protection Act 1972 has been registered.
During the course of investigation accused Mr. Abhijit S/o Narayan Desai, age 34 years N/o Postekar Thadebhatla, Dodamarg, Maharashtra was taken in to
custody and arrested.
Valpoi Police have conducted scene of offence Panchanama by using Forensic Export Team and where successful in attaching one Firearm with empty cartridge and one scooter from the scene of crime.
Firearm use was not having valid licence .
Further investigation is in progress with PI Viddesh Shirodkar of Valpoi Police Station under the supervision of SP (North) Shri Akshat Kaushal IPS and
SDPO Bicholim DYSP Jivba Dalvi.
