According to a police spokesperson, the Crime Branch carried out raids in multiple locations including Panaji, Mapusa, Porvorim, Margao, Vasco, Ponda, Mandrem, and Pernem. A total of 12 cases were registered, and 12 bookies were arrested during the operation.

FIRs have also been filed against key matka gambling operators, including:

A senior official from the Crime Branch confirmed that Jaya Chadda operates the main Kalyan Matka network from Mumbai, while Thakkar and Ganeshyam manage the Main Bazaar Matka operations in Gujarat, primarily active at night. Jaya is the widow of Suresh Bhagat, who was once famously known as the Kalyan Matka King.

The Crime Branch has registered 12 FIRs under Section 11(2)(a) of the Goa Prevention of Gambling Act and Section 112 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
