Panaji: Goa government seems to be planning to open the Casinos in the state after a long break, though the state is witnessing an average 100 cases per day.
Sources stated that the Casino industry might open up with certain restrictions either this week or before August 15.
The state government has extended the state level curfew till August 16, but the detailed notification regarding it was yet to be issued in public domain till Monday.
The opening up of casino may also cause a reason to worry as during second wave, one of the colonies where the staffers of casino were residing, had to be declared as a Containment Zone.
Goa government has already announced that they are okay with the visitors with covid negative RTPCR test or certificate of full vaccination as it gears up to open the tourism industry.
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has sounded a caution for the state government.
Khaunte tweeted ” The #GoaGovt should exercise extreme caution in unlocking, especially the Casinos which were the root cause for the 2nd Wave surge. Moneybags from Casinos for election should not become the cause of 3rd Wave in #Goa.”
