Panaji: The coordination committee of INDIA Alliance partners in Goa was held on Tuesday to decide the election strategy, hours after they launched their campaign in both the Parliamentary constituencies.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Congress, AAP, Goa Forward Party, NCP (Sharatchandra Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT).
“We officially started our campaign in both the constituencies today. The kind of participation and response that we received was overwhelming,” said Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar.
Patkar said that the alliance partners have been coming forward pro-actively to support both the candidates.
Congress party has fielded their candidates in both the constituencies as a part of INDIA Alliance. Ramakant Khalap is contesting from North Goa and Viriato Fernandes from South.
Patkar said that during the coordination committee meeting, the election program and strategy for next one month was finalised.
The polling in Goa is scheduled on May 7.
He said that both the candidates will file their nomination on April 15 and 16.
AAP Goa Chief Amit Palekar said that the coordination between the alliance partners have been happening “wonderfully well.”
“All are acting proactively and enthusiastically. Everything is going in the right direction,” he said.
Palekar said that all the partners are working towards victory of both the candidates.
