Bicholim: Indian Medical Association, Bicholim in association with Lions Club of Bicholim and Inner Wheel Bicholim on Thursday conducted 4th awareness program on Women’s Health.
In all 60 ladies participated in the program in presence of local MLA and Speaker of Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar. Two women’s health related initiative including “From Womb to Tomb” by Dr Mrs Kashish Patnekar and Covid vaccination for pregnant women by Dr Shekhar Salkar were taken up. Salkar is also a past president of IMA Goa and Lions Club of Bicholim.
IMA Bicholim President Dr Medha Salkar was also present and welcomed the gathering and appealed to all ladies present to spread awareness on vaccination and don’t fall prey to misconceptions spread via social media by some miscreants. Mrs Deepa Pal, councillor and Mr Raghoba Pal and representative of the temple were present on the occasion.
Also present were Mrs Amita Bordekar , Siddhu Bordekar, Sangam Pal, Anand Naik and Vaman Chari who all arranged the program .
Speaking on the occasion, Patnekar said that the all should get vaccinated as early as possible to avoid falling prey to third wave which is likely to hit Goa by the end of august. He also appealed all pregnant ladies to get themselves vaccinated.
Patnekar appealed pregnant women to come forward and get themselves vaccinated.
All queries on women’s health and vaccinations were answered by the speakers.
