Panaji: Social activist Sudip Tamhankar came down heavily against Dr.Pramod Sawant for his “Congress is responsible for mining issue in Goa”
Tamhankar said that he finds this statement to be misleading the people of Goa because when late Manohar Parrikar was the Leader of Opposition in parliament he demanded for an enquiry into the mining scam.
“Accordingly, the Shah Comission was appointed by the Central Government who presented their report saying thirty-five thousand crores scam had taken place in the mining issue,” he said.
“Thereafter in 2012 when Parrikar was elected as Chief Minister of Goa he was told by the supreme court to resume mining according to procedure established by law, which Parrikar did not do. CM should stop blaming Laxmikant Parsekar for the Mining blunder that Parrikar created,” he commented
Tamhankar said that if CM has guts he should take the name of Parrikar for the mining blunder.
“CM does not want to resume mining according to procedure established by law because he has hidden,” said Tamhankar.
