Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday held meeting on instructions of Chief Minister Dr Pramod P Sawant to discuss modalities for organising Eye Camps across the state of Goa in the presence of Director DHS Dr Jose D Sa, Dean GMC Dr Bandekar and our Health Officers.
“Free of cost screening with provisions for providing free glasses and surgeries in case of requirement, will be made. Our Health officers will be working in coordination with the officials of DHS to identify individuals for screening,” Rane said.
“We are aiming at screening about 200-300 people per session starting from 1st week of February and token system will be used to streamline the crowd,” Rane added.
Rane informed that officials from GMC alongside DHS will oversee the project.
“Our objective behind this camp is to provide best eye care services to the people in need and help prevent eye disorders at an early stage. We shall be putting up a file to Chief Minister Dr Pramod P Sawant for his approval,” Rane inferred.
