Panaji: After heated exchanged through press conferences and complaints to Election Commission, the day of election saw worst of rivals shaking hands, smiling to each others and also asking signature Konkani gesture ‘baro mare.’
At Café Bhonsle, Congress candidate Atanasio Monserratte and GSM candidate Subhash Velingkar were seen shaking hands and wishing each other all the best. When Velingkar was sitting for a breakfast after casting his vote, Monserratte entered in and while moving on shook hands with Velingkar.
Velingkar was also seen shaking hands with AAP candidate Valmiki Naik and also GPCC Chief Girish Chodankar.
The chemistry between BJP and GSM, however, was ‘not cool.’
Several staunch workers who were going around in the constituency were greeting each other with signature Konkani question ‘Baro Mare.’
At Neuginagar, Mayor Uday Madkaikar and former Mayor Shubham Chodankar were seen indulged in some light hearted moments. While Madkaikar is Monserratte supporter, Shubham is BJP leader.
