Panaji: The tests were conducted on second batch of suspected COVID-19 patients at Goa medical college and hospital’s lab last night. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said that all the tests have come negative.
This has come as a huge respite for the state. After initial five positive cases, rest have come negative.
GMCH has set up a virology lab which has started functioning from Tuesday. The first four tests had come negative in the lab.
On Wednesday morning, Rane announced that all the 14 tests conducted under Dr Savio and Dr Mohanti at GMCH under strict supervision of Secretary Health Neela Mohanan and Dean GMCH Dr Bandekar have come negative.
“All the 14 tests of which results were awaited were negative. Results came at 12.30 am. Team Goa is working hard for the safety of people of Goa with the support of chief minister Pramod Sawant,” he added.
Rane has been personally monitoring the testing centre round the clock providing all the essential support required for the same.
