Panaji: Goa’s Deputy Speaker and BJP MLA Isidore Fernandes on Thursday alleged that pre-poll surveys are conducted in Airconditioned room with pegs (liquor) in hand.
Fernandes was apparently referring to a pre-poll survey conducted by one of the local news channel, which had shown him in the unsafe zone for upcoming election from his constituency.
“Overall, these surveys are conducted sitting in AC rooms with pegs. This is my statement (on the survey),” said Fernandes, who was amongst the ten MLAs, who had switched side from Congress to BJP in July, 2019.
He said that those are predicting his defeat should contest against him and show that they can get elected.
Fernandes said that the pre-poll surveys are “jokes” as the elections are still four months away.
