Panaji: The schools restarted in Goa in offline mode from Monday onwards with students turning up in a large number to attend the classes.
State Education Director Bhushan Savaikar said that the schools from pre-primary till 12th standard have begun in an offline mode from Monday.
He said that the management has been asked to strictly abide by the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
“There was enthusiasm amongst the students as they are returning to the classes after such a gap,” Savaikar said adding that most of the schools have reported good percentage of attendance.
After reduction in the number of COVID-19 infections, the State Education department last week had issued circular ordering resumption of the schools in offline mode. The department has also instructed the schools not to make uniforms mandatory and also hold all the examinations in offline mode.
Savaikar said that the schools from pre-primary till 12th have been restarted.
The schools in Goa were moved to online mode during COVID-19 outbreak in the state in the year 2020. The examinations were also held in online mode.
