Panaji: Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee President Beena Shantaram Naik has tendered her resignation from the post, making way for the younger generation to take over.

In her resignation submitted to the President of All India Mahila Congress, Naik stated that she would continue to work for the Congress party as a dedicated worker.

Naik was elected as President of the Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress in November 2021, following the resignation of the then-state chief Pratima Coutinho, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party.

The outgoing GPMCC chief emphasized that her decision was not taken lightly but came after much reflection. “I believe that it is the right time for me to step down and make way for the younger generation,” she said.

Naik expressed that it has been an honor and privilege to serve as Mahila Congress State President. “I deeply appreciate the opportunity given to strengthen the organization,” she added.

The outgoing Mahila Congress President thanked all the Mahila Congress members and office bearers who supported her and worked diligently for the party’s well-being at every step.

“I assure you that the team we have built will continue to work for the betterment of society and the party,” she concluded.
