Farmagudi: In the past, people used to visit Goa only for Sun, Sand and Sea but now they are also coming to witness our ancestral culture and the temples, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
Addressing “Shankhnad Mahotsav” organised by Sanatan Sanstha at Ponda, Sawant pointed out that the temples in Goa are out of government’s control and they are governed by the locals.
“In the past, people used to visit Goa to witness Sun, Sand and Sea. That has changed now. The people are arriving to see our rich culture and grand temples,” he said.
Sawant said that Goa has the cleanest and most beautiful temples, which are turning into an attraction for the visitors.
He said that these temples are governed by the local community who have continued the age-old traditions. “Government has no involvement in the temples in the state,” he said.
Speaking about Sanatan Sanstha, a spiritual organisation with its headquarters at Ramnathi village in North Goa, Sawant said that the Sanstha has helped to increase spiritual quotient in the state.
He praised the organisation for making people spiritually conscious.
Sawant praised Sanatan Sanstha for its contribution towards promoting Sanatan Dharma and Sanatan Rashtra through various mediums.
He said that the people have also started coming to Goa for spiritual experiences.
“Sanatan Sanstha has taken Goa to a global level,” he added.
