Panaji: The Goa Investment Promotion Board in its meeting held on Wednesday approved ten projects with proposed investment of Rs 347.93 crore and employment potential of 3,495 individuals.
State Chief Minister Pramod Sawant who chaired the meeting on Wednesday said that the Goa Investment Promotion Board has approved ten different industrial projects, including the expansion, with an investment of Rs 347.93 crore. He said that these projects have an opportunity to employ 3495 individuals.
The chief minister said that of these ten projects, four are are expansion of manufacturing capacity in their existing units, three are new units proposed by existing manufacturing companies in Goa.
“One unit is a Goan start-up which is manufacturing of All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) and Unprotected Transport Vehicles (UTVs) for defence sector, one senior executive of pharmaceutical company is venturing into food testing laboratory business and the last one is a Goan hospitality brand with multiple units across Goa is investing in another eco-tourism project,” he said.
He said that these projects demonstrate the immense opportunity of doing business in Goa and the fact that all ten projects are Goa based is a thumps-up to the efforts of Government of Goa in assuring economic prosperity.
“The Board has directed the office of Goa to ensure these projects are fast tracked and maximum employment created is for local Goans,” the chief minister added.
