Panaji: Goa government on Tuesday withdrew a controversial circular that had made consent of parents mandatory for the students to appear for the classes in physical mode.
State Education Director Bhushan Savaikar has requested all the Heads of government, government aided, unaided pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary and special schools “not to insist parents’ consent for students to attend physically classes.”
The circular comes days after parents raised objection to the consent form which was getting signed from them by the institutions. All the educational institutes have began physical classes from last Monday onwards after the number of COVID-19 cases reduced drastically in the coastal state.
Savaikar said that the circular withdrawing the requirement of consent from the parents has been issued with approval of the competent authority.
