Panaji: Goa government on Monday ordered an inquiry through Independent agency into the collapse of a slab of Kala Academy building located in Panaji.
A portion of a slab of Kala Academy building collapsed on Monday. The building is under renovation.
After the incident, State Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel has ordered Principal Chief Engineer of Public Works Department to investigate and submit preliminary inquiry report regarding the collapse.
The chief secretary has also asked the PWD to seek explanation from the contractor who is currently executing the renovation work at Kala Academy over the incident.
In an important order, the Chief Secretary has asked PWD to appoint an independent agency like IIT-Roorkee or any other IIT/NIT (National Institute of Technology) to ascertain the cause of the incident.
Goel has asked the PWD to report back the compliance by Tuesday (July 18).
