Panaji: Goa government will have separate ward in Goa Medical College and Hospital’s Super Speciality Block to treat the cases of Black Fungus.

State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told mediapersons that six cases of patients infected with Black Fungus have been reported in the state of which one has died.

Talking to reporters in presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at Porvorim, Rane said that a separate 25-bedded ward would be dedicated to the patients infected with Black Fungus.

He said that the places like Delhi are bifurcating the cases of Black Fungus from the COVID-19 patients.

“We don’t want to mix up both kind of cases and separate treatment protocol would be worked out for patients with Black Fungus,” the Health Minister said.
