Goa CM Joins School Students to Sing Vande Mataram on Its 150th Year of Composition

Panaji: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday joined school students to sing Vande Mataram on the historic occasion of its 150th year of composition.

Sawant joined students of Our Lady of Grace High School, Bicholim, to sing the National Song, Vande Mataram, on this historic occasion.

Dignitaries present at the event included WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar, MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, and priests such as Fr. Kaitano, Fr. Succoro, along with the Principal, Teachers, and Students, who made this a memorable event.

The CM stated that this year marks 150 years since the song’s creation and 75 years since it was adopted as our National Song.

He bowed in reverence to Bankimchandra Chatterjee for penning this masterpiece, which ignited the spirit of freedom in countless Indians during the struggle for Independence.

The CM extended his heartfelt congratulations to Vivekanand Kendra and the Directorate of Education for their initiative to promote the singing of Vande Mataram in schools across Goa.

He also stated that inspired by the enduring message of this song, PM Narendra Modi has charted the vision of Viksit Bharat and expressed confidence that together, this dream will be realised.
