Panaji: Former Goa Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Subhash Velingkar will enter into active electoral politics through the Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM)  on Sunday, November 18.

Velingkar will be officially entering into GSM, a political party formed by him two years back, during a convention organized on Sunday morning at Porvorim.

GSM president Atmaram Gaonkar said that Velingkar will be joining the party officially on Sunday. “We are anxiously waiting to welcome Velingkar sir into our party and to promote him as our party’s face,” he said.

Gaonkar said that Velingkar’s entry into GSM will encourage all those BJP cadres, who are frustrated and dissatisfied with their party’s functioning, to join GSM.

“BJP cadres, especially at the grass root level are frustrated and dissatisfied the manner in which this party is running the State. There is growing resentment within,” he said.

Gaonkar said that no decision has been taken yet on whether Velingkar will contest coming by-elections in Mandrem or Shiroda or Lok Sabha 2019 polls.
