Margao: The Food and Drugs Administration on Monday conducted a raid in Margao seizing milk kalakand worth Rs 1.89 lakh.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane in a post on his X handle has written “In line with our commitment to ensuring food safety, FDA Goa conducted an early morning raid following a tip-off and seized 540 kg of milk analogue kalakand worth ₹1.89 lakh from a vehicle in Margao, meant for distribution across Goa.”
“The high-risk product, transported without refrigeration or proper labelling, was destroyed on the spot with Margao Municipality’s assistance. An additional 60 kg supplied to a vendor in Verem was also confiscated and destroyed. We are driven to make sure only safe, quality food reaches the people of Goa.”
