Panaji : Oncosurgeon, Chief of Department of Oncology, Manipal Hospital Goa, Dr Shekhar Salkar, commenting on the represent pandemic situation said the positivity rate of covid has come down from 50% to 30%, he asserted that in the coming days it should come down even more.
Dr Salkar also inferred that a Committee composed of experts and doctors need to be appointed to study the cause of death between 2 AM to 6 AM at Goa Medical College Hospital. “There can be many factors which are responsible for that incident,” said Dr Salkar.
In theory we all believe that we should have been well prepared for the 2nd wave of COVID19 but we also need to see the practical aspect of it.
Dr Salkar suggested that CM Dr Sawant should go to the Hospital from 2AM to 6AM and observe the situation there. “Even we are ready to accompany him. CM is a doctor himself and he should personally visit the hospital to understand the ground reality which he cannot by sitting in his office. It is very important that we save the lives of patients” suggested Dr Salkar.
