Delayed monsoons, Goa schools to remain closed on Saturday

Panaji: Due to delayed monsoon, Goa government on Friday announced that all its schools up to higher secondary would be closed down on Saturday, June 10.
Director of Education Shailesh Zingde on ‘Friday issued circular announcing the closure of the schools on Saturday.
“Due to extreme heat and delay of the monsoons in the state, it is decided by the competent authority to close down all the institutions on June 10, 2023,” the circular reads.
Zingde said that all the heads of Government, Government-aided, unaided, primary, middle, secondary andhigher secondary schools are hereby requested to compensate for the academic loss in future, if any.
Goa is yet to receive the monsoon, due to which the state is witnessing heat conditions.
