Chandor: Chandor Cavorlim village panchayat has accused Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias of instigating the crowd Shinde Sarpanch Celina Furtado.
In a press note released here, the panchayat has said that the MLA instigated the crowd against the Sarpanch in connection with the incomplete road in the village.
The panchayat has said that Dias instigated the crowd outside his office on Saturday, who later marched into the panchayat office on Monday seeking clarification on the incomplete pothole repair work of road at Cotta ward.
The crowd said that PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar had specifically instructed to repair the potholes on the road from Savio Henrique’s residence to Cotta bridge on priority and thereafter hot mix the road as per work order.
The villagers claimed that contrary to the instruction of the minister, the contractor hotmixed all the roads as per tender and some other roads as per the work order and took up the repairs of potholes on the main road.
The press note adds that the group led by MLA blamed the panchayat for not completing the road. Till date why road is not repaired is best known to the contractor and this seems to be done deliberately to disturb peace in the village.
Panchayat has said that in case PWD fails to take up the repairs it would be forced to have rasta roko.
