Covid19: Those arriving from Maha, Karnataka should test themselves: CM

Panaji:   Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday urged all those who have arrived in the state from Maharashtra and Karnataka to get themselves checked for Coronavirus infection at state run facility.

“I appeal everyone who have arrived from Maharashtra and Karnataka including Pune and Mumbai to get themselves tested at Goa Medical college and hospital before going home,” Sawant said, talking to reporters after video conferencing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sawant said that anyone who find such persons who have travelled to these states should immediately ask them to get tested.

“After testing them should self quarantine themselves,” he added.

Sawant said that many Goans who have been working in places like Pune and Mumbai have started coming back home (Goa). “They should also check themselves before going home,” he said.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said that elections for Zilla Panchayat scheduled on March 24 were postponed after speaking to the Prime Minister.
