Panaji: With the number of COVID-19 cases on rise and 13 people succumbing to the virus, State Health department will begin the process of fumigating the public transport service and bus stands across the state.
Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that there is urgent need to start fumigation of the buses which are used as a public transport and bus stand.
“It is need of the hour to fumigate the bus stands and the buses which are used for public transport,” he said.
“It will be discussed with CM. whichever activities we need to outsource with the agencies will also be discussed with Chief Secretary and State secretary health,” Rane said.
“This is something we need to start doing. Health department has been doing whatever it needs to fight COVID-19 under the leadership of chief minister,” he added.
Meanwhile, 49-year-old man who was admitted to ESI hospital in Margao succumbed to COVID-19 infection on Sunday.
This is the thirteenth death in the state due coronavirus.
