Panaji: Corporation of City of Panaji Mayor Uday Madkaikar has expressed his anguish through social media over the care-a-damn attitude of Health department in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Madkaikar took on to social media to narrate an incident on how Health department kept him in dark when there was covid positive case traced in his ward.
The Mayor wrote: A family from my ward was found positive on 19.07.2020 and the health department submitted the report yesterday of the same. It is very shocking how the health department did not inform the concerned Corporator or the Ccp on the same day.
“When I went to the concerned area where the person was found positive, more shocking was even the people residing in the building were not aware. If it was brought to my notice on Saturday I would have sanitised the building and informed the residents to go for testing.”
“It’s a request for the health department to inform us on the very same day so that we can prevent the virus to get spread.”
