Panaji : The number of Covid 19 cases in Goa have diminished as of today there are 1093 active cases as compared to last month which had 2274 active cases. A spurge in Dengue cases was seen across the state of Goa.
The fear of dengue and malaria lurks in the minds of people at Bardez, Vasco, Canacona, Panaji and Margao where locals are worried about stagnant water turning into a breeding ground for mosquitoes
.
In Canacona locals have complained about mosquito breeding sites in Galgibaga blaming the road works for the Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass which has led to water accumulation.
They said numerous complaints were made to authorities since the last two years but no corrective action was taken. However fumigation was carried out by Revolutionary Goans members in the Galgibaga area.
The Chimbel Primary Health Centre conducted a cleanliness cum awareness drive in Chinchwada-Chimbel on friday due to the detection of fresh dengue cases in the area.
According to sources, the Directorate of Health Services has taken initiative to reach different areas and taken measures to control the spread.
