Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that Congress will not be able to win even 30 seats across India while INDI Alliance will not cross 100 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Sawant also said that the LS polls in Goa could be termed as a referendum on his government (state government) though it is fought on the national agenda.
“Congress has no leadership. Congress will not win even 30 seats during upcoming election . INDI Alliance will not win even 100 seats. The voters are converting and coming towards the BJP,” the chief minister said.
Sawant said that when he took over in the year 2019, the party managed to win the 2022 election with majority. “That itself says that CM had worked well (between 2019-2022),” he said.
Sawant said that the current election (Lok Sabha polls) is fought on the national agenda. “We (BJP) is trying to win both the seats. It will be collective efforts of all including the cadres and the leaders,” he added.
The chief minister said that the election is being fought on the national agenda and the positive image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will help in winning both the seats in Goa.
Sawant said that the BJP led government in the centre has resolved the issues faced by Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), working towards the political reservation in Goa assembly and also 33 per cent women reservation.
“We have created infrastructure development in Goa. Goans know that all this is possible when there is double engine government,” he added.
Sawant said “I am sure that we will win the seats. I will not take the entire credit to myself. The credit goes to PM and the cadre. It can be referendum on my government.”
The chief minister said that the BJP had given a slogan of 22 in 22 during 2022 State assembly election, and will now give slogan of 27 in 27 during 2027 assembly elections.
When asked about the cabinet reshuffle post LS polls, Sawant said replied in negative. “The one (MLAs) who will do good work will get good positions in the organisation. They will get applaud from PM Modi and National President J P Nadda,” he added.
