Congress to launch ‘Jan Akrosh’ agitation from Dec 6 across Goa

Panaji: Congress party today announced to launch its taluka wise agitation ‘Jan Akrosh’ for restoration of Governance in Goa from December 6.

The agitation which was supposed to be launched from today has been postponed to December 6, where the first protest will be held at Pernem.

“ The agitation ‘Jan Akrosh’ will  start from December 6 from Pernem Bus Stand and will conclude at historical Lohia Maidan on Liberation day, December 19, for another liberation of Goa,” Congress president Girish Chodankar said.

It may be recalled that the Congress party had announced Taluka Wise agitation Jan Akrosh by involving affected people to restore Governance in Goa after a day long SatyaGraha held earlier this week at Azad Maidan.

“Congress in Goa had been protesting for full time Chief Minister since last several month, they met Governor on 6 occasions, had a protest at the Samadhi of first Chief Minister Late Bahusaheb Bandodkar at Miramar. Huge protest was also organised from Campal to Azad Maidaan which culminated in Public meeting. Congress had organised ‘Century without CM’ on completion of 100 days of absence of CM apart from various other programs,” Chodankar said.

After Pernem, the agitation will be held at Mapusa (Bardez) on December 7, December 8 in Bicholim (Bicholim),  December 9 in Quepem (Quepem), 10th  December at Sanguem (Sanguem), on December 12 in Valpoi (Satteri),  December 13 in Panaji (Tiswadi),  December 15 in Mormugao (Mormugao) and on December 19 atMargao (Salcette).

Dates of Canacona and Ponda will be notified later.

Congress has appealed activist, NGO`s and people in general irrespective of political affiliation to support the cause to restore Governance in Goa.
