Panaji: The Congress party on Wednesday confirmed that they are going ahead with the alliance with Goa Forward Party (GFP) for upcoming Goa elections, the nitty-gritties for which would be worked out at the “local level.”

All India Congress Committee Goa desk incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao told reporters that Goa Forward party and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar has come in support of the Congress party for upcoming state legislative assembly election.

He said that Congress will contest upcoming election in Goa with GFP and other like-minded parties.

“We have decided about the alliance but nitty gritties would be decided at the local level,” Rao said adding that the Congress will be the leader of the alliance.

GFP chief Vijai Sardesai along with his party colleague Vinod Palyekar and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar met senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday in New Delhi.

Rao was also present for the meeting along with Goa’s Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.

  1. GSRP/RG is saying Ghati to non-Goans. GSRP/RG is anti-National party, because they say Ghati to Indians who are staying in Goa. Ghati is a bad word for Indians who are staying in Goa.
