Panaji: Congress party today demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should resign protesting against BJP led central government’s decision to grant green clearance to Karnataka’s Kalasa-Bhandura project over river Mahadayi.
Addressing press conference, GPCC president Girish Chodankar charged that Sawant was part of the conspiracy mooted out to sell Goa.
“If he was not part of the conspiracy, then Sawant should resign as mark of protest against Central government decision,” Chodankar demanded.
He alleged that ahead of by-elections in Karnataka, BJP governments at the Centre, Karnataka and Goa have conspired to allow diversion of Mahadayi River water.
