Margao: In an apparent jibe at the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, the president of Goa Forward Party Vijai Sardesai has advised Chief Minister to learn percentages from elementary mathematics text books than to create confusion over his remark of 102% vaccination. “If he has really invented the 102 percent concept, then he should explain it and place it in the public domain.” Sardesai said.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had claimed last week that 100% of Goa’s population had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine only to be exposed by the health department’s COVID-19 vaccination bulletin on Sunday which stated that 1,152 persons had received their first dose on that day. Responding to this anomaly, Sawant had said that 102% of Goa’s population had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Referring to the statement of Pramod Sawant over the completion of the second dose by 31st October, Sardesai said that the CM should first know the gap between the first dose and the second dose, which is around 84 days. “On 10th September he says that 100 per cent vaccination of the first dose is done and in five days he says that by 31st October second dose will cover Goa’s entire population. How is this possible?” Sardesai questioned.
“Pramod Sawant is a doctor, he needs to do inventions in his field. If he intends to do inventions and discoveries in mathematics, then he will have to read some basic text books. These books are available in book stores across Goa”. The Fatorda MLA said.
“Across the world, a percentage upto 100 is taught. However, if the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has invented a percentage upto 102 %, everyone should have the opportunity to know and learn about it.” Sardesai pointed out. “At least BJP workers will get a chance to hail a Goan mathematician and use his mathematical invention within the party”. Sardesai said.
