Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today chaired a meeting to review the capital and revenue expenditure of 86 departments.
Speaking to reporters post meeting, Sawant said that except for 13 departments, all have touched 33 percent expenditure till date, for the current financial year.
“The 33 percent capital expenditure is despite the fact that first two months of the financial year were under Election code of conduct,” he stated.
“Many are talking that State don’t have money to spend. But no work is stopped due to money and the expenditure is going smoothly,” he said.
Sawant said that departments like Industries, Panchayat, Skill Development, Fisheries, Tribal Welfare, Mines, Airport, Rural Development Agency, Jail, Sports, Captain of Ports, Information Technology and Non Conventional Resources have spent only 20 percent on capital expenditure.
Chief Minister has sought clarification from the departments.
During the meeting, Chief Minister also directed departments to ensure proper implementation of Central government schemes.
