The Directorate of Art and Culture will hold a State Level Crib Competition from December 26 to December 31, 2024, in the category of individual/household and institution/group, to promote the age-old tradition by reinforcing cultural traditions associated with Christmas.
The Individual/Household Category will feature cribs made by individuals or families at their homes, and prizes for this will be awarded as First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth with prize money of Rs. 20,000/-, Rs. 15,000/-, Rs. 12,000/-, Rs. 10,000/-, and Rs. 8,000/- respectively. Apart from this, there will be five consolation prizes of Rs. 5,000/- each.
The Institution/Group category includes entries from institutions, clubs, parishes, or groups of people who collaborate to create cribs. The prizes for this category will be awarded as: First prize of Rs. 35,000/-, Second prize of Rs. 30,000/-, Third prize of Rs. 25,000/-, Fourth prize of Rs. 20,000/-, and Fifth prize of Rs. 15,000/- and there will be five consolation prizes of Rs. 10,000/- each.
In the absence of a significant number of participants, the Department reserves the right to hold or cancel the competition.
Interested individuals and institutions/groups are requested to fill out the application forms for participating in the competition, which will be available from Dec 2, 2024, at the office of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto. The application forms will also be available at various sub-offices of the Department, namely Ravindra Bhavan, Canacona, Curchorem, Margao, Sankhali, Vasco, and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda, and also on the website of the Directorate of Art and Culture – www.artandculture.goa.gov.in.
Forms must be submitted on or before December 18, 2024. Late entries will not be entertained.
