It was a moment of pride for *St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona* as the management and staff jubilantly welcomed and felicitated their student Ms. Geuel D’souza who won laurels for Goa by being a crucial part of the winning team of Tier II at the Junior National Football Championship held at Rajasthan.
Geuel, a student of class XI Commerce A, proved her prowess as a defender when she left no stone unturned to render unsuccessful the rival team’s every endeavour to score in the finals held at Royal FC stadium in Jaipur. When asked about her experience, she shares, with a brimming smile, about Goa’s undefeated steak in this season of the championship. She states, “I played five matches and won all five. We played our first three matches in Jodhpur and the next two in Jaipur.”
The Manager of the Higher Secondary School Rev. Fr. Jerard Sahayraj congratulated Ms. D’souza and lauded the efforts and sacrifices made by the family, especially her father Mr. Cecil D’souza who was present during the felicitation. The Principal Mrs. Angelica Fernandes Congratulated and thanked Geuel for the victory and wished team Goa the very best as Goa will move on to play in Tier I.
