Panaji: In one of a welcome gesture, Corporation of City of Panaji Mayor Uday Madkaikar on Friday himself went to clear the tourists who were cooking on a footpath near Miramar beach.
Madkaikar has given cleaning up city as his priority since the time he has taken over as Mayor.
“I received a call from my fellow corporation and was informed that tourists were cooking on the pavement at Miramar. I, immediately went to the site and saw around 30 tourists cooking with gas cylinder and eating along the pavement,” Madkaikar told www.goanewshub.com.
“I informed the police and asked them to take strict action. These people cook, eat and leave the left over items like plates, cups, bottles and waste food behind,” the Mayor said.
“I wish to take strict measures to stop such illegal activities in public places and see that our city remains clean,” he added.
